Mother Memories in Watercolour
These paintings were done during a state of remembering and “flow”, guided by intuition and memory this collection of paintings became one of my biggest collections of paintings created for my graduating exhibition at university.
These paintings are based more on the struggles with my body image as it changed constantly throughout my motherhood journey. Changing as I first become a mother and again and again as I had each of my three children.
Accepting myself and my new body as it expanded with new life each time was a difficult thing I had to experience, loving and caring for my new baby was easy compared to loving me. These paintings are a tribute to myself and my struggles and to other mothers who might feel the same.
